Launch a Solana token in 5 steps
- Connect a Solana wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack…) with a little SOL on bagit.fun/create.
- Describe your token: name (up to 32 characters), ticker (up to 13), description, image and links to X, Telegram or your website.
- Choose Regular or Custom. Regular is a standard Pump.fun token. Custom is a Meteora bonding-curve token with your own fees and protections.
- Add an optional first buy. It is bundled into the launch transaction, so you buy before any sniper can.
- Approve in your wallet. Bag It simulates the transaction first, so a launch that would fail never costs you anything. Your token goes live immediately, trades on every Solana app and is listed on Bag Coins.
Every token launched on Bag It has an address ending in bag, so anyone can recognise it.
Pump.fun or Meteora: which launch should you pick?
| Regular (Pump.fun) | Custom (Meteora) | |
|---|---|---|
| Trading fee | 1.25%, set by Pump.fun | You choose 1–7% |
| Creator earnings | 80% of Pump's 0.3% creator fee | 80% of fees after Meteora's 20% |
| Anti-sniper fee | No | Up to 50%, falling over 1–60 min |
| Buyback & burn pledge | No | 1–100% of claimed fees, public on-chain |
| Creator vesting | No | 2–10% of supply via Jupiter Lock |
| Graduates to | PumpSwap | Meteora DAMM v2, liquidity locked forever |
| Token standard | Pump.fun token | Token-2022, no mint or freeze authority |
Pick Regular if you want the Pump.fun audience and the simplest launch. Pick Custom if you want control over fees, protection from snipers and bots, and visible commitments like burns and vesting. See every Custom setting explained.
What it costs to create a Solana token
A Regular launch costs only Solana network fees and rent. A Custom launch costs about 0.015–0.02 SOL, all paid to Solana as rent for the token, pool and settings accounts, and about 0.006 SOL less when you reuse a template. Bag It charges nothing to launch; it earns 20% of the creator trading fee. The launch page shows the exact total before you sign. All fees on Bag It are paid in SOL.
How to protect your launch
- Anti-sniper fee: bots that buy in the first seconds pay up to 50%, which flows to you and the pool rather than to them.
- Volatility surcharge: the fee rises when bots trade back and forth within seconds.
- First buy in the launch: nobody can buy before you.
- No mint or freeze authority: holders can verify the supply is fixed and nobody can freeze them.
- Locked liquidity and vesting: traders can check that liquidity can never be pulled and that your own allocation unlocks slowly.
After launch
- Share your token page: it has a live chart, trades, holders and a buy/sell panel.
- Claim your SOL creator fees from the token page or your profile.
- Reward your community with the airdrop tool.
- Watch the market on Bag Radar and Bag Calls.
FAQ
How much does it cost to launch a token on Solana?
On Bag It a Regular (Pump.fun) launch costs only Solana network fees and rent. A Custom (Meteora) launch costs about 0.015–0.02 SOL in rent, none of which goes to Bag It, and about 0.006 SOL less when you reuse a template. An optional first buy is extra.
Do I need to code to create a Solana token?
No. Fill in a name, ticker, image and links, choose your settings and approve in your wallet (Phantom, Solflare, Backpack and other Solana wallets). The token, its metadata and its trading pool are created in one or two transactions.
What is the difference between Pump.fun and Meteora launches?
A Pump.fun launch uses Pump's fixed bonding curve and fees (1.25% per trade) and graduates to PumpSwap. A Meteora Dynamic Bonding Curve launch lets you choose the trading fee (1–7%), anti-sniper fees, the fee after graduation, vesting and buyback & burn, and graduates to a Meteora pool whose liquidity is locked forever.
How do I protect my token launch from snipers?
Use a Custom launch with anti-sniper protection: trades pay a high fee at launch (up to 50%) that falls to your normal fee over 1–60 minutes. It is built into the pool, so it applies on every app and trading bot. Bundle your own first buy into the launch so you buy before anyone else.
Can the fees or supply be changed after launch?
No. Custom settings live in an immutable Meteora config account, Custom tokens have no mint or freeze authority, and the Regular 80/20 creator-fee split is written into Pump.fun’s fee-sharing account permanently.
How does the creator earn from a token?
Creators earn trading fees in SOL. On Regular launches the creator keeps 80% of Pump’s creator fee. On Custom launches, after Meteora’s 20% protocol share, the creator keeps 80% of the rest; Bag It keeps 20%. Fees are claimed from the token page or your profile.
What happens when a token graduates?
When the bonding curve fills (85 SOL on Meteora Custom launches), liquidity moves to a regular AMM pool: PumpSwap for Pump.fun tokens, Meteora DAMM v2 for Custom tokens, where the liquidity is permanently locked. Graduation is automatic.
Is launching a token safe?
Launching is non-custodial: Bag It never holds your SOL, tokens or keys, and every transaction is simulated before your wallet asks you to sign. Trading new tokens is extremely risky, though; most lose most of their value. Read the Terms & risks first.
